Shakira faces fall amid 'Whenever Wherever' performance

Shakira experienced an onstage mishap while performing in Montreal.

A fan-recorded clip from the May 20 show is making rounds on the internet, showing the singer slipping and falling during her performance on her 2001 classic Whenever Wherever.

The swaying singer, 48, was about to start singing the first verse of the track when she lost her balance, slipped, and fell sideways on the ground.

The award-winning musician got up immediately and carried on with her performance.

Shakira shared the fall in a now-expired Instagram Stories post, per fan-captured footage on X.

However, this isn't the first mishap the Waka Waka hitmaker has experienced during her current tour, that kicked off in Rio de Janeiro on February 11.

On February 15, Shakira announced the cancellation of the first of two back-to-back shows at the National Stadium of Peru as she was hospitalised due to an "abdominal issue."
