Meghan Markle lost out on a major opportunity she the Duchess of Sussex was dropped from the cover of British Vogue’s September 2022 issue.

It happened after tensions between her team and the magazine’s editors, including former British Vogue editor Edward Enninful and editor-in-chief Anna Wintour due to the Duchess’ teams’ demands.

According to a report, Wintour became frustrated with Meghan’s team over what sources described as “micromanaging” and specific demands about the cover and straplines.

The planned article, which was supposed to focus on Meghan’s charity work and connect with her speech at the One Young World Summit, was eventually cancelled.

As per Daily Mail, sources said Meghan was being "difficult about making it a cover" and her team were "insisting on particular straplines.”

"Anna heard about it, and just like banned her and said, 'That's it. We don't want to do this'," the insider said.

"And so she didn't get the cover, and I guess she didn't even get the story," they added.

The report said Enninful "probably agreed with Anna that you don't get to call the shots on who's on the cover. That's absolutely an editor's decision."

"Anna was p***ed off. Anna was frustrated with all the micromanaging, and just was like, 'All right. That's it. She can't have the cover and we're not doing the story.’”

However, it is important to note here that while Meghan was relaxed with "no expectations," her team had "high expectations for the piece" in Vogue.

They further added that the the project about Meghan’s work needed a full team, including photographers, video crew, stylists, and editors, to create special photos and a video with her and Harry.

Meghan’s team also wanted the couple to appear on a special digital cover of Vogue, which comes out with the print issue.

However, Enninful reportedly turned down the idea. "He didn't think it was appropriate to give her the cover," they said.
