Prince Harry had sent a strong message to his aunts, the sisters of Princess Diana, regarding Meghan Markle.

According to a report by the Mirror, the duke "was so disappointed" when he introduced Meghan Markle to Princess Diana's two sisters.

The publication quoted book Revenge: Meghan, Harry, and the War Between the Windsors by royal biographer Tom Bower that the duke was 'so disappointed' by Princess Diana sisters' blunt take on Meghan Markle when he first introduced the duchess to them.

According to the book, Harry had hoped Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Lady Jane Fellowes would see in Meghan similarities to his mother Princess Diana.

However, although Harry believed Diana would have been "over the moon" about his relationship with Meghan, he was upset with her sisters' reaction.

Archie and Lilibet doting father suffered a further blow as Lady McCorquodale and Lady Fellowes "thought Meghan would not fit in with the Royal Family."

The royal expert claims in his book, "Harry assumed that Diana's family and friends would see a similarity between Diana and his fiancée. Both, he said, shared the same problems. He was so disappointed."

But, Harry remained defiant and, in 2022, the duke discussed Meghan's similarities to Diana in his Netflix docuseries.

The Daily Express quoted Harry as saying "So much of what Meghan is and how she is, is so similar to my mum. She has the same compassion, the same empathy, the same confidence. She has this warmth about her."
