Jacob Elordi, Justin Kurzel get honest about each other

Amazon’s latest limited series, The Narrow Road to the Deep North, has starred Jacob Elordi, and Justin Kurzel served as the director.

Little does the pair know, they admired each other long before the project.

In an interview with Variety, the Kissing Booth star said he has been a fan of the Australian filmmaker since his movie Snowtown in 2011.

“Especially in Australia, it’s one of the first films that you find when you’re in high school that’s a little different and you have to talk to people about,” he said.

Similarly, Justin raved about Jacob’s performances in Euphoria, Priscilla and Saltburn.

“He’s a cinephile. We had these great conversations about films, about approaching characters and the way we both want to work,” the director, before sharing sent the role to the actor to consider playing it.

He continued, “Jacob is the real deal; he’s incredibly curious about the craft of acting and wants to get the most out of it. Sometimes you can just sort of feel that something’s going to be really special.”

Released in April, The Narrow Road to the Deep North became a hit, receiving critical acclaim. Jacob's performance, in particular, was much-praised.
