Renée Victor, the actress who lent voice to Abuelita in the Pixar film Coco, has passed away at age 86.
Victor's cause of death was lymphoma, a type of blood cancer, per Deadline.
She was surrounded by her family at her home in Sherman Oaks, California, when she died on the evening of Friday, May 30.
Her death was confirmed by her daughters, Raquel Victor and Margo Victor.
“Renee is perhaps best known as the voice of Abuelita in Disney’s 2017 blockbuster Coco," her daughters, Raquel Victor and Margo Victor, wrote in a statement, per the publication.
“Renee was loved by so many & had fans all over the world. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her.”
Victor had early singing gigs in the music business and taught salsa and tango on the side before landing onscreen roles in shows like ER, The Tony Danza Show, and Weeds.
Her most recent work was voice acting for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, which came out in April.
