Sydney Sweeney has opened up about a painful chapter from her teenage years, revealing that she lived in a Holiday Inn for over eight months after her parents declared bankruptcy.
In a recent interview with The Times, the 27-year-old actress shared that at age 16, her family, then living in Washington, lost their home in 2013, prompting a move to a one-bedroom hotel room in Burbank, Los Angeles.
Sweeney said, “It felt like my entire life,” while recalling how she, her parents, and brother shared the cramped space with no kitchen or balcony.
Despite the hardships, she remembered making the best of the situation.
She added, “My brother and I joked we were in The Suite Life of Zack and Cody. We made friends with the staff and they’d make us grilled cheese."
According to People, Sweeney's journey from modest beginnings to Hollywood stardom has been meteoric.
With standout roles in The White Lotus, The Handmaid’s Tale, and the box-office hit Anyone But You, she has since built a multimillion-dollar real estate portfolio, including properties in Bel Air, Los Angeles, the Florida Keys, and the Pacific Northwest.
Moreover, she also confirmed her single status following the end of her engagement with producer Jonathan Davino, and is now focusing on upcoming projects, including the series Echo Valley, while continuing to expand her business ventures and real estate empire.
Additionally, the actress recently made headlines for launching a limited-edition soap, containing droplets of her own bathwater, in collaboration with Dr. Squatch, embracing internet jokes and fan fascination with playful self-awareness.
