Sir Rod Stewart just cancelled multiple upcoming US concerts.
Ahead of his Glastonbury set later this month, one of the most famous festivals which is scheduled between June 25 and 29, the legendary musician announced he is currently recovering from flu.
Taking to his Instagram account , Sir Rod admitted he was “devastated” from the decision having to cancel or reschedule six of his pre-announced US concerts, which were to take place in the next eight days.
“I have to cancel and reschedule my next six concerts in June as I continue to recover from the flu,” the Young Turks crooner, who is due to play the legends slot at the Somerset festival on Sunday June 29, wrote.
He continued, “So sorry my friends.”
“I’m devastated and sincerely apologise for any inconvenience to my fans. I’ll be back on stage and will see you soon,” the 80-year-old singer and songwriter wrote before he signed off “Sir Rod” with the heartbreak emoji.
This comes after the Maggie May hitmaker revealed that for his Glastonbury set of 2025 he would be reuniting with his former Faces bandmate Ronnie Wood.
On That Peter Crouch Podcast, Sir Rod stated that he was expected to take the iconic Pyramid stage for a hour and a quarter.
“But I’ve asked them ‘Please, another 15 minutes’ because I play for over two hours every night and it’s nothing,” Sir Rod Stewart said at that time, hinting his much-anticipated Glastonbury performance might just go on longer than scheduled.
