Miley Cyrus just opened up about her past drug abuse.
The 32-year-old Grammy award winning singer also detailed how she kept her spending on the illicit substances a secret, specifically from her accountant.
On The Ringer’s Every Single Album podcast, as she discussed her 2015 album, Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz, she revealed where her money went and her accountant didn’t know.
“The drugs were the biggest cost, which to hide those from my accountant, we called them vintage clothes,” the Flowers hitmaker confessed.
Miley continued, “And so she would get these checks. That happens on touring all the time.”
She then talked about how her accountant would question the cost of these “vintage clothes” but Miley ensured all her purchases were discreet.
“And every time she saw me, she'd be like, ‘Where's that, like, $15,000 original John Lennon T-shirt that you bought?’ It's like, ‘Oh, it's upstairs,’” she said.
“We just really want to protect it. It's really delicate. The fabric got to take care of it. So I bought a lot of vintage clothes that year,” Miley further added.
As the Used To Be Young singer reflected on her album, Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz, she expressed gratitude for all the growth she has experienced since then.
“I'm so glad I survived that time in my life. I would definitely not encourage anyone else to go this hard, but the fact that I got through it, I'm very glad I got to do it,” Miley Cyrus concluded.
