Meet the Parents is the evergreen movie starring Ben Stiller, where he played the character of Greg Focker.
But on the film’s 25th anniversary, he told Variety, “When someone yells ‘Focker!’ on the street, it doesn’t necessarily feel respectful.”
“Whenever I’m treated by a male nurse,” the Night At the Museum star said, pointing to his character, who was a male nurse in the movie, “I feel a connection.”
Moreover, Ben also shared that, “It’s so much fun to hear laughter in a theater with comedy that’s 25 years old," adding, "It still works."
After the screening, the director Jay Roach also shared a trivia that the role the Severance director played nearly landed on Jim Carrey's lap when Steven Spielberg was considered to helm it.
“[Jim Carrey] was going to be me?” the 59-year-old reacted. "**** I totally forgot that part.”
Released in 2004, Meet the Parents was a hit at the box office, earning over $300 million globally on a budget of $55 million.
Along with Ben, the film starred Robert De Niro, Teri Polo, and Nicole DeHuff, among others.
