Mia Farrow isn’t among fans of famous actress Joan Crawford.
During a recent interview, Farrow recalled getting creeped out by Joan, who was almost 40 years her senior.
Mia spoke with actor Cole Escola in a conversation for Interview Magazine. When Escola praised Joan and her work in Our Dancing Daughters, the The Omen star quickly revealed her honest take on the actress.
“She’s scary,” Farrow remarked. “And she was scary in person as well.”
As a teenager, Farrow starred in the TV version of Peyton Place on the Fox. During that time, Joan, who was the wife of the Pepsi Cola president, Alfred Steele, began sending her loads of the cola.
“For whatever reason, she started sending a whole refrigerator of Pepsi Cola for my trailer ’cause I was in a TV series called Peyton Place,” she explained.
“I don’t particularly like Pepsi Cola, but a lot of Pepsi Cola kept coming to my trailer, more than anyone would ever want,” the Rosemary’s Baby star continued. “And then she came over to see me, and I got a strange vibe from her.”
That’s not all. Farrow had more encounters with Joan that didn’t leave a good impression on her.
She shared that the legendary actress would come to her mother, Maureen O'Sullivan’s, house.
“I hung up people’s coats for my mom when they came into the house. And I hung her coat and out falls a flask of alcohol,” Mia Farrow recalled. “She grabbed it like that, and she put it in her handbag. She drank quite a lot.”
