Prince William is set to take on an important role in this year’s Trooping the Colour parade.
The ceremony which is held every year in June to mark the British monarch’s official birthday, will take place on Saturday, June 14, 2025, this year.
For the ceremony this year, King Charles will travel by carriage alongside Queen Camilla due to his ongoing cancer treatment.
Meanwhile other senior royals including Charles’ siblings Princess Anne and Prince Edward and the monarch’s eldest son Prince William will ride on horseback from Buckingham Palace to Horse Guards Parade.
Notably, an insider recently shared how the future King, the Prince of Wales is really feeling about taking on an important role.
William, the Colonel of the Welsh Guards, will reportedly don the traditional red uniform with a leek emblem, a bearskin cap, and several military medals, including the Gold, Diamond, and Platinum Jubilee medals and the Coronation Medal as well.
Additionally, William will also wear his Royal Air Force pilot wings and the sash of the Order of the Garter.
As per The Sunday Times an insider shared that the Prince of Wales “really enjoys it.”
For those unaware, Trooping the Colour has been a tradition since 1820. However, it was only paused during the world wars and in 1955 due to a national strike.
Despite King Charles’ ongoing cancer treatment he is expected to attend and take the salute.
