'Wonder Woman' gets major update from DC head James Gunn

DC, under the leadership of Peter Safran and James Gunn, has announced numerous projects. Now, the latter shared that a new film on Wonder Woman is in the works.

"Wonder Woman's a separate thing" to the already announced Paradise Lost HBO/Max series, which is "slow moving, but it's moving," he told EW.

“We're working on Wonder Woman. Wonder Woman's being written right now," the executive said.

It is important to note that previously Wonder Woman 3 was planned, but the new leadership at DC shelved the franchise.

Patty Jenkins, who directed the two films of the superhero, reacted at the time, "I was open to considering anything asked of me. It was my understanding there was nothing I could do to move anything forward at this time."

"DC is obviously buried in changes they are having to make, so I understand these decisions are difficult right now," she said.

Elsewhere in the interview, James also added that no actress has been cast for the Wonder Woman role yet.
