Meghan Markle could have made strides in a specific area of service in the Royal Family if she stayed.
The Duchess of Sussex, who is an advocate of women rights, could have worked alongside Sophie Wessex on the cause.
The comment comes the same week Sophie touched upon sexual violence in conflict at the Imperial War Museum.
Sophie said: "The stigma that is sadly placed on the women, it's about the mothers. In so many countries they can't even go back into the home place."
Speaking about Meghan’s similar work, Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams told the Mail: "Meghan is struggling to be an influencer, Sophie has influence in ways that really matter, which Meghan could have been.”
Sophie’s work would have then allowed Meghan to "flourish" in the Royal Family.
