Hozier just postponed some of his tour dates due to illness.
This announcement came after the Irish singer was seen struggling to sing at his headlining set for this year’s Governors Ball, in New York City.
As his voice cracked during the performance, he cheekily told the audience, “For anybody who has never seen me before, I promise I sound at least five per cent better on average,”
Revealing that he as well his band mates were under the weather, the Take Me To Church singer added, “I am haunted – I am stricken – by the spectre of puberty one more time.”
However, it now seems his illness may have gotten the best of him as he announced the cancellation of his upcoming shows in Camden, New Jersey (June 10) and Ridgedale, Missouri (June 11).
Explaining that the decision was made “due to illness” Hozier confirmed that the show at the Freedom Mortgage Pavilion in New Jersey would now be held on July 15, while the latter date at the Thunder Ridge Nature Arena will be rescheduled for July 22.
“All previously purchased tickets will be honoured for the new dates. Ticket holders will receive additional information via email,” the Too Sweet crooner's message read apologizing for “any inconvenience this may cause.”
This came after Hozier thanked his fan base in New York for attending the Governors Ball, writing on X, formerly Twitter:
“Thank you to @GovBallNYC for having me last night and to the crowd in NYC for being so kind while I struggled through this virus,” he wrote, posting photos from the show. “You gave me such a lift.”
