Emily Blunt dazzled on the red carpet at The American Institute for Stuttering’s 19th Annual Gala on Tuesday evening, drawing attention with her glowing complexion and striking orange gown.
The 42-year-old British actress attended the event to support a cause close to her heart, while also teasing fans with a rare comment on the much-anticipated sequel to The Devil Wears Prada.
Blunt, who has long been an advocate for people who stutter, reflected on her own childhood speech impediment during the evening.
According to Daily Mail, she said during a speech, “It’s a disability that often lives in the shadows alongside fear, shame, and humiliation. It’s neurological, biological, and often hereditary — and it’s not your fault.”
Moreover, the Mary Poppins Returns star urged greater empathy toward those with communication difficulties, adding, “Every word they say takes effort and courage. Look them in the eye, be patient. Don’t finish their sentences. They have so much to share.”
On the red carpet, Blunt stunned in a pleated burnt orange gown adorned with a large corsage, paired with diamond accessories.
Additionally, her makeup and slicked-back brunette hair completed the glamorous look.
When asked about the sequel to the 2006 fashion comedy The Devil Wears Prada, in which she played the snarky assistant Emily Charlton, Blunt said she had yet to read a script but hinted that production could begin as early as next month.
In regards to this, she said, “It’s so weird. I haven’t even read a script,” before admitting she was “skirting” the topic and under strict instructions to stay tight-lipped, as per the publication's claims.
