KARACHI: A loader truck struck a parked cargo aircraft at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport, aviation sources said late on Friday, forcing the plane to be grounded for inspection.

According to initial reports, the aircraft was stationed in the parking bay when a loader truck suddenly rammed into it.

Sources suggest the accident may have been caused by brake failure in the vehicle.

Following the collision, the aircraft was immediately grounded, while a technical team began assessing the extent of the damage.

The Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has launched an investigation into the incident to determine the exact cause and assess any possible lapses in ground operations.

No injuries were reported in the accident.
