LAHORE: The Lahore High Court Friday took notice of death of an 18-year-old youth from police torture in Sharaqpur.
The LHC Complaint Cell has directed the District & Sessions Judge, Sheikhupura, to probe the matter and submit a detailed report of steps taken by the local police along with his own comments.
An application was submitted by MA Joseph Francis of Centre for Legal Aid Assistance & Settlement (CLAAS) stating that Adnan Masih was implicated in a fake case by police which was ultimately dropped but Adnan was kept in illegal custody for 6 days till his death.
Later, his body was hanged in the lockup to pretend that he had committed suicide, he added. (APP)
