Henry Golding makes 'rare' statement about Charlize Theron

Henry Golding has finally shown his reverence for his The Old Guard 2 costar Charlize Theron.

While catching up with PEOPLE magazine, the 38-year-old British actor compared Theron to Tom Cruise, the Mission Impossible star, at the premiere of The Old Guard 2 at Netflix’s Tudum Theatre in Los Angeles on Wednesday, June 25.

Singing praises of the Academy Award-winning actress, Golding said, “You know what it is? She leads from the front. She’s like a rare commodity in Hollywood.”

He added, “She is the female counterpart to a Tom Cruise. She’s the producer. She’s on set first thing in the morning, last at night, and she’s creating what she wants and she’s in there with the action. She’s in there with the choreography,”

“She and Tom Cruise are some of the last of the movie stars,” the Snake Eyes star noted.

For the unversed, the forthcoming superhero film, The Old Guard 2, which will be released on July 2, 2025, on Netflix, stars Theron as Andy, while Golding plays the role of Tuah.

Notably, the Snow White and the Huntsman star, who made it to the list of Time magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in 2016, began her acting career in the 1990s.

She ended up securing her Oscar nominations for her roles of Aileen Wuornos in Monster (2003), Josey Aimes in North Country (2005), and Megyn Kelly in Bombshell (2019.)

It is pertinent to mention that Charlize Theron won her first Academy Award in 2004 for Monster.
