Prince Harry ‘saddened Queen with insensitive wedding move

Prince Harry had destroyed his relationship with Queen Elizabeth II in a lead up to his wedding.

The Duke of Sussex, who tied the knot with Meghan Markle in 2018, upset Her Majesty after asking Archbishop of Canterbury to perform the ceremony and not the Dean of Windsor.

Author Sally Bedell Smith writes on Substack that Queen’s cousin, Lady Anson told her several months before the wedding: "She [the Queen] said she was really upset. I was shocked when the Queen told me this, how she was so saddened. I had no idea about the conversation, that he was rude to her for ten minutes.

"They had tea with her the day before yesterday. She was trying to find out about the wedding dress, and Meghan wouldn’t tell her,” she noted.

Prince Harry left the Royal Family back in 2020 alongside wife Meghan Markle and son, Prince Archie. The couple later accused the Royal Family of showcasing racism towards their son and publicly shared their grievances on television. Harry and Meghan now live in California, where they also welcomed their daughter, Princess Lilibet.
