2kg explosives used in Lahore food street blast: police report
LAHORE: The police have put together the initial report over food street blast which states that 2 kilograms of explosives were used in the attack, while seven alleged accused were also taken into custody and shifted to an undisclosed location, Geo News reported.

Police sources said that Improvised Explosive Device (IED) had been used in the blast, however, the ball bearings and remnants of IED had not been found from the crime scene, adding that majority of people had sustained injuries after being hit by metal and glass pieces.

The report further stated that the identified explosive material had been used in various cracker attacks before.

Following the bomb blast, the security forces rounded up more than 90 suspects and after interrogation seven of them were formally arrested and shifted to an unknown location.

Police sources added that two brothers, who had been injured in the blast, were also taken in custody.
