Lorde just scored her first-ever Official Number 1 album with Virgin.
As per Official Charts, this week, the Ribs hitmaker surpassed her previous albums which included 2013’s debut Pure Heroine, that landed in fourth place, 2017’s Melodrama which came in fifth and her 2021 LP, Solar Power, landing in the second position upon its release.
“I cannot believe that I've got Number 1 in the UK! This is absolutely insane. I felt so much love from the UK on Virgin.,” Lorde told Official Charts.
She added, “I cannot thank you enough and I cannot wait to see you on the tour very, very soon. Sending all my love. Love you guys so much!”
It is also worth mentioning that Bruce Springsteen scored a 25th solo Top 10 record with Tracks II: The Lost Albums, as it landed on the second spot.
Additionally, Sabrina Carpenter’s already wildly successful album, Short N’ Sweet now boasts the longest consecutive Top 5 streak for a solo artist LP in Official Albums Chart history.
Staying in the Top 5 for a consecutive 45 weeks, it has surpassed Elvis Presley’s G.I. Blues, which stayed in the Top 5 for 44 weeks.
Short N’ Sweet has now become the Espresso hitmaker’s biggest album of 2025 so far; racking up 348,000 chart units in the UK, while also being the most streamed album of 2025 to date.
