Sikandar Hayat appointed as IGP Islamabad
ISLAMABAD: Sikandar Hayat, one of the most reputed officers of police department, has been appointed as Inspector General of Police (IGP), Islamabad.

The Establishment Division will notify the new appointment today (Tuesday).

The officer has seniority with 15th Common. He will reach Pakistan on Saturday and take charge of the new responsibility on Sunday or Monday.

Sikandar has been given the task to cleanse the capital police department of corrupt elements and reshuffle the department purely on merit.

He was Additional Director General Intelligence Bureau (IB) and transferred to the Consulate General of Pakistan in Jeddah in 2010 as Special Minister for Coordination. Jan Mohammad, a Grade-20 PSP officer, has been appointed as DIG Security Division, replacing Tahir Alam Khan.
