KARACHI: A three year-old abducted girl was recovered and four kidnappers were killed in a successful action taken by law enforcement agencies, here on Thursday.
Citizens Police Liaison Committee and Anti Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) of the Karachi police jointly conducted the raid in Neelam Colony to recover the girl.
CPLC Chief Ahmed Chinoy said Mahi Suchdev, daughter of Dr Sunil, was kidnapped from SITE area on 13 July 2013 near Valika Hospital.
The kidnappers demanded Rs50million ransom and finally the ransom amount was finalized at Rs0.6mn.
The kidnapper came to receive the ransom money from Kashif Center where CPLC & AVCC team tried to arrest him but they opened firing. In the exchange of firing a kidnapper was gunned down.
Chinoy said CPLC and AVCC with the technical support of an intelligence agency of federal government located the hideout of kidnappers at Naleem Colony and after encounter three more kidnappers were killed.
One of the kidnappers was identified as Rana, who was a cook in kidnaper’s den, while the identity of others could not be ascertained yet.
He said five policemen and one CPLC member were injured in shootout.
Three Kalashnikovs and five .30 caliber pistols were recovered from the possession of the killed accused. (PPI)
