One killed, 8 injured as bus overturns in Orangi

KARACHI: One person was killed and eight others injured when a bus overturned in Orangi Town area of the city on Friday.

According to police, the bus overturned due to over-speeding in Orangi Town No 5. The incident left one person dead and eight others injured, they said.

The identity of 30-year-old deceased could not be ascertained yet. The injured were identified as Razzaq 50, Mazhar 23, Ahsan 40, Hassan 30, Salahuddin 55, Naeem 40 and Bilal 17.

The body and injured were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for an autopsy and treatment respectively.

Meanwhile, the police have arrested bus driver Arsahd over his negligence and impounded the vehicle.

The case of the incident has not been registered yet.
