QUETTA: FIR has been lodged against the five guards of the senior minister of Balochistan and PML-N provincial chief, Sardar Sanaullah Zehri against thrashing of Sub-Inspector here on Friday.
Addressing a press conference at CCPO office, Mir Zubair Mehmood, CCPO Quetta said that armed guards of Sardar Sanaullah Zehri had thrashed Sub-Inspector Naqeebullah when latter asked them to leave assembly premises in pursuance of the Election Commission of Pakistan's directives during the polling for senate.
FIR has been launched in the Bijli Thana against five armed guards of Zehri, investigation has been initiated and the responsible would be arrested once it completes, he maintained.
CCPO thanked the Chief Justice Balochistan High Court for taking suo moto action on the issue and said we believed in the supremacy of law and not in the confrontation. "I need no orders from any authority to implement on law," Mir Zubair replied to a question and added that we are the servants of government and would continue performing our duties with devotion and spirit.
Earlier, he said that police thwarting the terror bid, seized huge cache of arms and explosives during a raid conducted at Kili Landi area of Kuchlak on late Thursday night. He said that Molvi Irfan was arrested while two others namely Abdul Baqi and Abdul Hadi escaped.
The successful operation has saved the people of Quetta from huge devastation, CCPO said adding raids were being conducted to arrest those who are still at large. (APP)
