MQM to unconditionally support PML-N candidate in presidential polls
KARACHI: In a major breakthrough in the ongoing campaigning for the upcoming presidential polls, the Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) has announced unconditional support for Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Mamnoon Hussain.

The announcement came after a meeting of the leaders of both the parties at nine zero here on Friday evening.

Addressing a press conference PML-N leader Ishaq Dar thanked MQM for its unconditional support. He said the MQM has also supported Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's agenda for the development of the country.

On the occasion, MQM leader Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said that his party's decision to back PML-N candidate in the presidential election is for the continuation of democracy.

Earlier, A high-level delegation of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) had arrived at the MQM headquarters Nine Zero to garner the support of the second largest political party in Sindh for its presidential candidate.

The MQM leaders and workers accorded a warm welcome to the delegation comprising Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Mamnoon Hussain and Information Minister Pervez Rasheed.

Sources said that the PML-N delegation invited MQM to join federal government during the meeting.

The delegation talked to MQM leaders and its chief Altaf Hussain via telephone after which the latter decided to support the former's candidate.
