Newborn's medical treatment starts on CM's instructions
LAHORE: On the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, a 12-day baby girl has reached Lahore by a special plane.

Additional Secretary Health (Technical) Dr Anwar Janjua and Medical Superintendent Dr Zahid Pervaiz received the child, her mother and uncle .

It may be mentioned here that in response to a media report about the disease of newborn baby, the Chief Minister had ordered her free treatment. The uncle of the baby while talking to media thanked the Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, who, he said has given them a ray of hope.

Meanwhile a 3-member special medical board comprising Prof Dr Asad Aslam Khan, Associate Prof Dr Sohail Safdar and Pediatric Ophthalmologist Dr Ashraf Paul has been set up at Mayo Hospital for the detailed examination and treatment of the baby.

Medical Superintendent Mayo Hospital Dr Zahid Pervaiz said that the board would submit a report about the proposed treatment of the child. He said that the medical examination and treatment of the baby was being started immediately while boarding and lodging of her attendance has also been arranged at the hospital. (APP)
