CINCINNATI, Ohio: Andy Murray defeated Mikhail Youzhny 6-2, 6-3 on Wednesday to make a winning start at the Cincinnati Masters.
The Scottish second seed, who lost in the third round last week in Montreal, dominated his Russian opponent in 70 minutes, going up a double-break in the opening games and never relinguishing control.
Murray is working to get ready to defend his title at the US Open, which begins on August 26. (AFP)
