Rangers get 90-day custody of MPA Manzar Imam’s killer
KARACHI: The Rangers paramilitary force on Tuesday conducted a raid in Taiser town Karachi and arrested a notorious target killed who has confessed to the murder of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) MPA Manzar Imam.

The target killer identified as Muhammad Ashiq and said to be affiliated with MQM Unit-120 was presented before the Anti-Terrorism Court in Karachi on Wednesday and the Rangers secured a 90-day preventive detention, according to the Rangers PRO.

The killer confessed to the multiple murders of members of opposing political parties, including the killing MQM MPA Manzar Imam and his guards who were gunned down on 17th January 2013.

The Rangers PRO added, that the criminal also confessed to dumping bodies on 12th May 2007 across the city using KKF ambulances.

Besides Muhammad Ashiq, the Rangers also secured 90-day custody of Shakeel Baba and Shaikh Ilyas aka Sheru – also affiliated with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).

Accused Shakeel is said to be part of MQM’s Unit 173/A North Nazimabad and Sheru to Unit 32/A Lyari, the PRO added.

According to Rangers spokesman, the accused have confessed to killing 46 people on political and sectarian grounds.
