PM urges UN chief for implementation of UN resolutions on Kashmir
UNITED NATIONS: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif called upon the UN Secretary-General on Sunday for implementation of the UN Security Council resolutions on Kashmir issue.

In his meeting with Ban Ki-moon in New York on Sunday, the PM called for plebiscite for resolution of the longstanding issue of Jammu and Kashmir.

PM Nawaz also raised the issue of ceasefire violations by India on the Line of Control (LoC) and the Working Boundary with the UN Secretary-General.

He urged the UN chief to play his role in ending unprovoked ceasefire violations by India.

The UN Secretary-General expressed concern over the tension between Pakistan and India and called for dialogue.

Briefing the UN chief about his domestic agenda, PM Sharif said fight against terror is the top priority.

The PM said Pakistan seeks to have new a relationship with Afghanistan and is ready to assist in the process of reconciliation when asked.

The UN Secretary-General lauded Pakistan's contribution to UN peacekeeping efforts and paid tributes to its peace-keepers.
