Owen Cooper has already made television history at such a tender age but he insists life at school hasn’t changed much.
The 15-year-old shared that he is still a regular teenage with his school problems.
The Warrington-born actor gained global recognition with his chilling portrayal of Jamie Miller, a teenage murder suspect in Netflix series, Adolescence.
His extraordinary performance landed him critical acclaim.
He also became the youngest male ever to win a Primetime Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Limited Series.
Despite the accolades, Cooper claimed he still gets the same treatment from his teachers like any other student.
His friends also ‘take the mick’ and don’t pay much attention to the online buzz.
While having candid chat with Dazed magazine, he expressed relief at people around him treating him the same way as they used to do before the success.
"The teachers cared, obviously – they were going mad about it. But my friends don’t really look at stuff about me on the internet. And I’m actually glad that they don’t – when I was filming the show, I did think, 'What if everyone changes? What if all my friends change?'"
"But I still get shouted at by the teachers in school. I still get the mick taken out of me. It’s all good. I’m glad they haven’t changed," he continued.
Cooper is determined to gain higher education despite earning fame.
He plans to sit his GCSE exams next summer.
