Ana de Armas shared new details about her friendship with Keanu Reeves and the surprising way she entered action films.

During a talk at the Red Sea International Film Festival in Saudi Arabia, the actress offered a close look at her journey, from her early childhood in Cuba to her major projects in Hollywood.

Ana told the crowd that her first meeting with Reeves happened when she arrived in Los Angeles for Eli Roth’s Knock Knock.

The Ghosted actress admitted that she barely knew English at that time and remembered how difficult the work felt, yet she said it also marked the beginning of a “beautiful friendship.”

However, Ana also described Reeves as “incredibly kind and generous” and said their reunion for Ballerina this year made the moment feel complete for her.

The Blonde actress explained that her move into action films was never part of a plan.

The 37-year-old star said she “never thought” she would take on such roles and mentioned No Time to Die, The Gray Man, Ghosted and Ballerina as projects that demanded intense training.

She went on calling the preparation exhausting and said the work continued throughout filming.

Ana also spoke about her early years in Cuba, describing them as “very free and very social.”

After gaining early acting experience in Havana, she moved to Madrid at eighteen with little savings.

Moreover, a popular Spanish series brought her recognition, but she said the limited roles pushed her toward Los Angeles.

Ana de Armas pointed to Blade Runner 2049 as a major turning point and said Blonde helped her understand her craft in a deeper way.
