By the time the closing bell rang, the benchmark 100-share index was up by 0.32 percent, or 72.97 points.
Analysts said that a strengthening regional markets and the arrival of the first tranche from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) fueled today’s bull-rush.
Engro Foods Ltd jumped 4.99 percent to close at Rs109.52,
while Lucky Cement Ltd 2.3 percent to Rs244.
