Rising Star nominees for BAFTA 2026 revealed

The BAFTA Film Awards have unveiled the nominations for the Rising Star category this year, which includes five new talents who had their breakout roles in the past year.

The British Academy Award is to be selected through public voting, and is the only such category at the BAFTAs.

The nominees for 2026 include Chase Infiniti from One Battle After Another, Miles Caton from Sinners, Archie Madekwe from Lurker, Robert Aramayo from I Swear, and Posy Sterling from Lollipop.

Infiniti and Aramayo are also nominated in the lead performance category, while Caton and Infiniti have also received recognition in other major award shows.

The Rising Star category was debuted in 2005 when James McAvoy received the honour, and has since nominated many talented actors who are now household names - including Margot Robbie, Timothee Chalamet, and Jessie Buckley.

Both the Dune star and Buckley are nominated for lead performance categories in major awards.

The complete list of nominations will be announced on January 27, and the winners will be announced at the award ceremony on February 22 in London at the Royal Festival Hall.
