Chris Pratt has addressed the buzz around his highly speculated return as Star-Lord in the upcoming installment of the Avengers franchise for the very first time.

During a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the 46-year-old Marvel star admitted exactly who could make him break his silence on the matter.

As the late night host questioned him about his meeting with Pope Leo XIV at the Vatican, Chris revealed that he sat down with the holy leader because he was in the area in connection with a documentary which he is producing.

“I’m producing a documentary on the Vatican and on St. Peter’s Basilica and specifically on the remains of St. Peter that were discovered beneath the Basilica in the 1940s,” he explained. “It’s a really extraordinary story.”

While further opening up about his private moment with the archbishop, Jimmy asked his guest, “If the Pope asked you if Star-Lord was going to be in the next Avengers: Doomsday movie, would you tell him?”

To which, the actor promptly responded, “I would have to tell him.”

With the show’s host then retorting, “But you won’t tell me?”, the Guardians of the Galaxy star hit back with, “You’re not quite the Pope, Jimmy.”

While Chris Pratt is currently promoting Mercy, his upcoming sci-fi thriller with Rebecca Ferguson, he has been subjected to rumours about his return in Avengers: Doomsday for a while.

The speculation only further increased since the release of various teasers from the movie which have confirmed the return of several major characters so far, including Thor and Steve Rogers.
