PESHAWAR: District administration Peshawar Thursday accelerated action against profiteers and arrested 38 persons in this connection from different parts of the city, said a press release issued here.
According to details after getting directives from Deputy Commissioner (D.C) Peshawar, Syed Zaheer-ul-Islam all Additional Assistant Commissioners (AACs) accelerated crackdown against profiteers in their areas of jurisdiction.
In this connection, AAC, Abdul Nabi conducted raids in Fawara Chowk, Stadium Chowk, Kali Bara and R.A Bazaar of Peshawar Cantonment and arrested 20 persons while AAC Ahmad Kamal took into custody 10 profiteers from Faqirabad, Charsadda Road and Landay Sarak. Similarly, AAC Sohail Aziz arrested eight from Gulbahar, Nishtarabad and Phandu Road. All arrested person have been shifted to prison.
The Deputy Commissioner has directed all AACs for the acceleration of action and cancelled the Eid ul Azha vacations of all additional assistant commissioners and directed to remain present in their respective areas to foil the bed of profiteers to take benefit of the absence of administration on the occasion of Eid.
