Prince Harry and Meghan Markle seem to be ready to bring their renewed foundation back into the spotlight as the Sussex office issued a statement amid ongoing scrutiny.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex had founded Archewell Foundation in 2020 after exiting their senior royal roles. They established the institution to continue with their philanthropic efforts to support charities. However, the charity suffered a massive blow after they “essentially shuttered Archewell”, per sources.

It underwent a massive change as it was renamed as Archewell Philanthropies in a bid to allow the couple and their children “to expand upon their global philanthropic endeavours as a family”.

There had been silence for months but it sees that the foundation has made a comeback especially after Prince Harry’s debacle with Sentebale.

“At Archewell Philanthropies, we believe that meaningful progress happens when those most impacted by today’s challenges are also those helping to shape the solutions,” the statement began.

“We are proud to continue our support of the Responsible Technology Youth Power Fund (RTYPF) as it announces its third cohort of grantees: 24 youth and intergenerationally led organizations collectively receiving $1.9 million in funding to advance a safer, more equitable digital future.”

The message highlighted how the “grantees are not only responding to today’s challenges—they are helping define what responsible technology can and should look like”.

The news comes just few months after the Sussex team’s longest-serving staffer James Holt quit. He had been with them for over a decade. The charity foundation is still under immense scrutiny as many users on social media pointed out how the quietly it had been taken out of the spotlight.

Previously sources had stated that the entire Sussex brand was “under threat” after this major setback. It also didn’t help the Harry’s beloved African charity, created in his late mother Princess Diana’s honour, Sentebale, was marred with controversy.

Along with Prince Seeiso and key board members, Harry was forced to quit. Last month, Harry was sued by the charity for an alleged “adverse media campaign” that caused “reputational harm” to Sentebale. The case it yet to be resolved.
