Ethan Hawke breaks silence on daughter Maya Hawke's wedding: 'No words'

As Maya Hawke navigates newly married life, her father Ethan Hawke is also experiencing his daughter being married for the first time.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight at the Time100 Gala in New York City on Thursday, April 23, the Oscar-nominated actor, 55, finally addressed the Stranger Things actress’s Valentine’s Day wedding to singer-songwriter Christian Lee Hutson.

“That was pretty fun,” the proud dad told the outlet as he shared how the experience was huge for him, too. “Walking your daughter down the aisle is – I’ve had a lot of feelings in my life, and that was one I never – I have no words – I have no vocabulary for that. I felt like I was 13 experiencing life for the first time.”

The Dead Poets Society star went on to gush over Maya’s new husband. “The man she married is an amazing young man, Christian. So I’m a very lucky individual.”

Ethan shares Maya and son Levon, 24, with his ex-wife Uma Therman. He also shared daughters Clementine, 17, and Indiana, 14, with his current wife, Ryan Sawhughes.

Maya, 27, tied the knot with Christian, 35, in a surprise New York City ceremony on February 14.
