Light rain was reported in different parts of Karachi, with drizzle affecting several areas across the metropolis late on Sunday night.
Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, University Road and Sohrab Goth experienced intermittent drizzle under prevailing weather conditions.
Downpour was also reported on Abul Hasan Isphani Road, Rashid Minhas Road and adjoining areas, extending light rainfall activity to additional parts of the metropolis.
Earlier, the Pakistan Meteorological Department's (PMD) daily forecast stated that a seasonal low had lain over northern Balochistan and adjoining areas.
A westerly wave was affecting upper parts of the country, while moist currents from the Arabian Sea were also penetrating central and southern regions.
It said mainly hot and dry weather was expected in most parts of the country, while partly cloudy conditions were likely over upper hilly areas.
Duststorms and thunderstorms were expected in central Punjab, the Potohar region, and southern Balochistan, including Awaran, Panjgur, Khuzdar and Kech, during the forecast period.
The forecast added that hot and dry conditions were expected to persist across most areas; however, rain-wind and thunderstorm activity was expected at isolated places in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and adjoining hilly regions.
