IHC to hear Chairman NADRA sacking case

ISLAMABAD: Former NADRA chairman, Tariq Malik’s plea challenging his sacking in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) has been approved for hearing today (Tuesday). The case has been sent to Justice Noorul Haq Qureshi.

According to sources, Tariq Malik’s contract was cancelled due to poor performance.

Tariq Malik has been replaced by Brigadier (retd) Zahid Hussain who has served as NADRA’s chief operating officer and director general of the four provinces.

The sacking has been criticized by opposition parties. Opposition leader in the National Assembly, Khursheed Shah compared the sacking to rigging. PTI leader Shireen Mazari said Tariq Malik was sacked to cover up election rigging.
