15 IJT activists sent on 14 day judicial remand
LAHORE: A Model Town Court Tuesday sent 15 Islami Jamiat Talba (IJT) activists involved in two murder attempt cases to jail on a 14 day judicial remand while another involved in a dacoity case was handed over to police on a two days physical remand.

However another local court granted bail to eight students involved in four ransack cases. An anti terrorism court also ordered to delete sections of Anti Terrorism Act from a FIR registered against six IJT students.

Earlier the accused including Rao Adnan Abu Zar Ghafari Malik Mubasher Hafiz Wajid and Umar Khalid before Judge Anti Terrorist Court Ahmad Mehmood Ranjha.

However the accused counsel submitted that they were innocent and roped in the case without any evidence.

He contended that the accused did not subject anyone to torture as no medical examination was conducted.

The court after hearing the arguments ordered to delete sections of Anti Tterrorism Act and directed to produce them before the court concerned.

Later the police produced 22 students including the said six students involved in seven other cases before two different courts in Model Town.

However Judicial Magistrate Ms Misbah Asghar granted bail to eight accused involved in four ransack cases. The court ordered the accused to submit surety bonds of Rs 30 000 each to avail the bail.

Another judicial magistrate Ghulam Mustafa Chaudhry sent 15 other accused students to jail on judicial remand for 14 days.

The court also handed over a student Abdul Kabeer involved in a dacoity case to police on two days physical remand.
