Louis Partridge is learning a lot about navigating life in the public eye in recent years — especially after her split from Olivia Rodrigo after nearly three years together.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight on the red carpet for the world premiere of Enola Holmes 3 on Friday, July 26, the 23-year-old English actor addressed the growing speculation about his personal life.
“I’m caring less and less, which is a wonderful thing,” Partridge said, admitting that he did “care a lot” when he was younger. “And I am growing towards realising what’s really important in one’s life - what makes me happy — and that is a very good feeling,” he added.
Partridge’s comments come months after The Sun reported that the actor and the Grammy-winning singer had broken up after a challenging few weeks.
Neither commented on the breakup, but Rodrigo admitted her latest album, you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love, was a time capsule of a relationship in all of its stages, including a breakup. The album, which is Rodrigo’s third, was inspired by her first “big girl” relationship, as she recently told Dazed.
In fact, Partridge’s use of the phrase “less and less” sparked frenzy among Rodrigo fans, who made a connection with one of her new songs called Less.
However, Partridge is tuning out all speculation, and he credits his Enola Holmes costar Millie Bobby Brown for setting an example for him.
“She’s navigated it really really tremendously well. She’s had it far worse than me. She’s had so many eyes on her from a younger age even,” Partridge said of the 22-year-old Stranger Things star. “I have a lot of respect for the way she carries herself and the way she’s handled it. She knows what’s important to her and she knows what isn’t. And she will be vocal about that. I think she is a bit of a legend in that respect,” he added.
