Leave it to Keke Palmer to always keep things real.
The pop icon let her feelings be known during the 2026 BET Awards, hosted by comedian and actor Druski at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday, June 28. While doing some crowd work, Druski walked up to Palmer in the audience — but she was not having it.
“You’re doing too damn much,” Palmer, 32, told Druski, 31, who appeared caught off guard as he tried to defend himself.
But the actress cut him off and snatched the mic away from Druski as she went off. “This should have been my gig. Why the hell would they have you host? And this is the problem, this is the problem with BET. They be trippin’. ‘Cause this should have been me.”
When Druski tried to take the mic back, Palmer told him she’s “got it” and went on to introduce the next performer: Grammy Award-winning rapper Cardi B.
The audience erupted into cheer and kept hyping up Palmer, who effortlessly took over the role.
The whole interaction was, of course, a skit for the annual Black Entertainment Television (BET) Awards, which recognise outstanding achievements in music, film, sports, and culture.
Cardi B, who led the night with six nominations, took home the award for the Best Female Hip Hop Artist. Kehlani won Best Female R&B/ Pop Artist, while Teyana Taylor and Lauryn Hill received the Icon of the Year Award and the Living Legend Icon Award respectively.
Druski — who became the youngest-ever BET host — received The Pulse Award.
