Prince William seems to be making drastic addition to his plans after King Charles takes bold step for the monarchy.
The Buckingham Palace has been undergoing a refurbishment programme which is scheduled to conclude next year. It was initially believed that the monarch would be shifting to the Palace from Clarence House once the renovations were done.
Meanwhile, the Prince and Prince of Wales had indicated that their new Windsor home, Forest Lodge, is expected to be their ‘forever home’ even after William takes on the throne. Now, it has been revealed that King would remain at Clarence House while the Palace will be treated as the centre of official activities – a major break in tradition.
William would have been the first to implement this change, but Charles seems to have taken the lead on the matter. There are whispers about an ongoing competition about running the monarchy between the King and his heir. Sources have shared that now that Charles has essentially broken royal tradition, he will be taking it one step further with some shocking plans.
In a latest report by Rob Shuter, it was revealed that William will be turning Buckingham Palace into a luxury hotel. “William doesn’t see this as an either-or,” a palace source said. “The palace can host kings, presidents and diplomats —and welcome paying guests and museum visitors at the same time.”
The future king believes that people would travel “from every corner of the world” for an experience at the historic building and the revenue will preserve it for the future generations.
“He’s not sentimental about the building,” another source said. “He’s sentimental about the monarchy. If turning part of Buckingham Palace into a museum and luxury hotel helps secure the institution’s future, he’ll do it.”
