Prince William holds talks with King Charles as monarchy is in danger

Prince William's concerns for the protection of the monarchy have been raised following Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's private meeting with King Charles.

On July 10, the monarch hosted the Duke and Duchess of Sussex at his Highgrove home, where the reunion with Archie and Lilibet also took place.

Despite the meeting details being kept under wraps, royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams believes that it creates chaos for the future King William. 

"The most disastrous thing that could happen to the monarchy would be a falling out between King Charles and Prince William, who, together with his family, is its future," he said. 

As there are high chances of future trips and reunions, Harry and Meghan's plans might not sit well with the Prince of Wales. 

"They want the King to see more of his grandchildren, which is totally understandable. Things will undoubtedly be better arranged regarding accommodation and, hopefully, security in future," the royal commentator told Daily Mail. 

If things go as planned, King Charles might take part in Harry's Invictus Games that is set to take place in Birmingham in 2027. 

"Harry and Meghan's royal links mean everything..." Richard said. 

On one hand, Prince William is appreciating the King's approach to keep dealings with Sussexes private, but he is "concerned" about the future visits. 

"These are likely to overshadow the valuable work the monarchy is doing in the media. It would be best if they happened privately with no one knowing and great progress might then be made, though that does not tend to be the Sussexes' way," Richard added.
