Ryan Reynolds thanks fans after secret Deadpool walk through Comic-Con crowd

Ryan Reynolds personally delivered a special message to his fans after his secret walk at the Comic-Con.

After surprising fans at the San Diego event on Saturday, July 25, by appearing in full Deadpool costume on the convention floor Reynolds, 49, later shared a behind-the-scenes video of the undercover visit.

He thanked fans for supporting the franchise over the past decade, crediting them with helping make Deadpool a success.

“The fans got Deadpool off the ground so many years ago. Yesterday, 10 years after the first film and exactly 2 years after Deadpool & Wolverine, I felt so lucky to be on the #SDCC floor with everyone whose unapologetic devotion brings so much joy to this world,” he wrote in the caption of a video montage.

The video also featured a clip of Robert Downey Jr. calling on him while hitting the stage with his Avengers: Doomsday co-stars. “Who’s this guy with the swords and stuff?” asked the Doctor Doom actor.

“Long-time listener, first-time caller,” said Blake Lively’s husband into the mic as the crowd cheered. “This seems an awfully expensive way to announce a film. When do you start filming?”

During Marvel's Hall H presentation, the Deadpool star also made a brief onstage appearance alongside the Avengers: Doomsday cast, joking with Robert Downey Jr. about the film's production.

The appearance follows his recent confirmation that a fourth Deadpool movie is in development. While he didn't reveal plot details or a release timeline, he hinted that the film will draw inspiration from lesser-known comic storylines and expressed confidence that it "is going to be great."

The update comes after the massive success of Deadpool & Wolverine, which grossed $1.3 billion worldwide.
