Bridgerton fans are finally getting a better idea of what season 5 will look like as more cast details continue to come out.

Filming is already underway and while some familiar faces are returning, the new season will also introduce new characters and confirm one major exit.

This time, the story will focus on Francesca Bridgerton, which is played by Hannah Dodd.

After the death of her husband, John Stirling, her life takes a new turn. Masali Baduza will also return as Michaela Stirling, who is expected to play an important part in the story.

The new season, however, is also bringing in new faces as Tega Alexander joined the cast as Christopher Anderson.

Jacqueline Boatswain, whereas, will play Helen Stirling, while Gemma Knight Jones will appear as Lady Elizabeth Ashworth.

Many fan favourites are coming back as well. Ruth Gemmell, Golda Rosheuvel, Adjoa Andoh, Claudia Jessie and the Mondrich family are all returning.

Nicola Coughlan also confirmed she will be back as Penelope Bridgerton, although fans should not expect to see her as often.

Speaking on the Dish podcast, she said, "Season five had started filming already, so I won't be in it very much. I'm always happy to come back. I think it's a genuinely lovely job to come back to."

Jonathan Bailey, Simone Ashley, Luke Thompson, Yerin Ha, Luke Newton and Polly Walker are all expected to return, although Netflix has not officially confirmed them yet.

One actor who will not be back is Victor Alli after John Stirling's death in season 4.
