Ojani Noa takes jab at Jennifer Lopez's marriage to Ben Affleck

Jennifer Lopez's first husband, Ojani Noa, has claimed her marriage to Ben Affleck was little more than a publicity stunt.

As per Yahoo, this is the latest in a string of public comments he's made about the singer's romantic history since their own brief marriage ended more than two decades ago.

Noa, who was married to Lopez for less than a year from 1997 to 1998 after the pair met while he was working at a Miami restaurant, has repeatedly weighed in on her subsequent relationships over the years, from her second wedding to Ben Affleck in 2022 through to their divorce, which was finalised in early 2025. 

He previously expressed doubt the marriage would last at all, telling the Daily Mail shortly after the couple's Las Vegas wedding: "I wish her and Ben the best, but I'm not convinced it will last." 

At the time, he claimed Lopez had once told him on their own wedding night that they would "be together forever," adding that he believed she was "someone who will be married seven or eight times."

Noa's commentary escalated further last year after Lopez told the Howard Stern Show she didn't believe she had ever been "truly loved," explaining that her past partners simply "don't have it in them." 

Noa responded with a lengthy Instagram post accusing her of "playing the victim," writing: "Stop putting us down. Stop putting me down with your victim card. The problem is not us. Not me. The problem is you." 

He went on to describe himself as "an amazing, loving person" who had never cheated during their marriage, and pushed back on the idea that her exes were incapable of loving her.

Lopez, who has been married four times in total, finalised her divorce from Affleck earlier this year after the pair separated in April 2024. 

She has largely avoided commenting publicly on Noa's remarks.
