The wait is finally over for Sadie Sink fans as her highly-anticipated Spider-Man: Brand New Day role has been revealed - accidentally.
On Monday, July 27, at the premiere of Tom Holland and Zendaya's new Spider-Man movie, muscisan Steve Lacy accidently spilled exclusive insights into the Stranger Things alum's character in the live-action, set to release in theatres on July 31, 2026.
Sadie Sink’s role in Spider-Man: Brand New Day may’ve been inadvertently spoiled by one of the movie’s musicians on the red carpet.
During his red carpet conversation with the press, Steve, who wrote song oh yeah? revealed the Spider-Man character he is excited to see the most.
“You know, what? Jean,” Steve replied with excitement.
“I like Jean. She’s the villain but there’s a reason to her madness," he added.
Steve's response left the interviewer a bit surprised who quickly questioned if the singer just spoiled Sadie's character.
Ignoring the impromptu question, Steve just replied, “I like her. I like her character. I don’t know why.”
Although, Steve did not utter Sadie’s name, the X-Men’s Jean Grey reference sent the internet into a meltdown as fans quickly took to X to share their hilarious response on what the musician just did.
Many users assumed what might have been Kevin Feige’s reaction to Steve’s innocent mistake.
One user commented, “The cameraman witnessing Fiege beating the shit out of Steve Lacy in the back”
Added another, “Bro was asked to answer without spoiling anything and failed in under 5 seconds”
“It’s a spoiler, but at the same time it’s not because who doesn’t know the Jean Grey in the movie. They did a terrible job keeping the secret under wraps“noted a third
One user quipped, “Kevin Feige will be coming for him”
