Princess Anne joins Commonwealth Games celebrations in Scotland

Princess Anne is set to return to the spotlight at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games on Thursday, July 30, continuing the Royal Family's strong presence at one of the biggest sporting events of the year.

The Princess Royal will travel to Scotland for a series of engagements linked to the Games for British sport and the Commonwealth movement. 

Known as one of the sport loving members of the Royal Family, Anne has spent decades championing athletes and sporting organisations both in the UK and abroad.

Her visit follows last week's opening ceremony, where King Charles and Queen Camilla were joined by the Duke of Edinburgh, Vice-Patron of Commonwealth Sport, to officially launch the Games in Glasgow.

As a former Olympic equestrian who represented Great Britain at the 1976 Montreal Games, she remains one of the Royal Family's most respected sporting figures. 

The Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, running from July 23 to August 2, have brought together thousands of athletes from across the Commonwealth to compete in a wide range of sports, celebrating excellence, friendship and unity.
